Market snapshot
AI Answer Competition Index
57.8/ 100
Placed 553 among the 1,822 counties of at least 20,000 people, and 311 within our own 400-market set. A higher score means more established businesses are sharing the same pool of AI answers. The method behind the score
Think of the index as a headcount of established competition, those with five or more employees, in eleven recommendation categories, for each 10,000 residents and compared across every county of 20,000 or more people. The categories are law, dental, medical, real estate, insurance, accounting, remodeling, plumbing and HVAC, roofing, electrical and auto repair. Brazos County scores 57.8, which is close to the middle of the pack.
Brazos County has two traits worth noting: it is a county gaining residents faster than most, and it is a county where new housing is going up quickly for its size. The measures below show where it stands against every other county.
A percentile here is the share of the 1,822 ranked counties (20,000 or more residents) that fall below Brazos County's figure. Built from: Census Bureau population estimates, the 2017 and 2022 County Business Patterns, income estimates from the Census Bureau and the Building Permits Survey.
What shapes AI visibility here
With 244,703 residents and 4.6% growth since the 2020 Census (ahead of 84% of counties), Brazos County keeps adding people with no loyalty to any local business. Their first questions are broad ones, such as who is good and who is nearby, and GEO is the work of making sure the answers about your business are accurate.
Two more details round out the picture. Brazos County authorized 95.2 new homes per 10,000 residents in 2025, more than 93% of counties. Median household income in Brazos County is $55,724, below 80% of counties.
For anyone weighing GEO services for Brazos County businesses, a growing population keeps adding people who ask basic questions, and accurate answers about your business give them something to find.
College Station holds about 51% of Brazos County's residents, so it matters most, but the rest of the county (Bryan, Kurten and Wixon Valley) asks about its own town names, and each one is a separate local answer.
Housing demand
Bars show new housing units approved by building permits. From the Building Permits Survey (Census Bureau): annual county data plus matching January-to-August totals. An approval is not a completed home.
Year after year, approvals in Brazos County land close together (2,212 in 2021, 2,330 in 2025), which works out to 95.2 per 10,000 residents and sits above 93% of counties. Through the first eight months of 2026, 2,629 units were approved against 1,389 in the same months of 2025 (+89.3%).
The construction-linked categories with the most established competitors in Brazos County are real estate agents and brokers (2.5x typical) and plumbing, heating and air-conditioning contractors (1.1x typical). New households arrive without providers they trust, and a business whose details already match across the places AI engines read is easier for them to find described.
The field an answer chooses from
Read each row across: Brazos County's established locations in a category, the crowding bar against the median county (the dark tick is 1.0x), the change in all locations since 2017, and the count of large employers.
Bars give each category's established locations (five or more employees) per 10,000 residents as a multiple of the middle county among those ranked; the dark tick is 1.0x. Change covers every employer location in the category, of any size. Counts come from County Business Patterns (2017, 2022) and are no measure of AI mentions or search volume. How we calculate this
Real estate agents and brokers lead the field for crowding in Brazos County: 13 established locations, 2.5x a typical county, with the category as a whole up 28.4% since 2017. Law offices (32 established locations, 1.8x) and auto repair shops (26 established locations, 1.2x) follow, also denser than a typical county. Residential remodelers are the least crowded category here at 0.7x typical (10 established locations), which leaves more room for a well-documented business to be noticed.
Residential remodelers added the most new competition, 73% more locations of all sizes than in 2017 (64 now). Plumbing, heating and air-conditioning contractors contracted by 6.7% since 2017, to 70 locations. The biggest employers sit in physicians offices, where 13 locations have 20 or more employees.
Remember what a count can and cannot say. It tells you how many established businesses are in each category. It says nothing about AI mentions, search volume or timing, and nobody can promise a mention in an AI answer.

Closest of the six is Citrus County, FL, at 56.4 on the index against 57.8 for Brazos County. Webb County, TX is the most different of the six, at 44.7. One visible difference is firm size, with 6.5% of advice-led locations in Marion County, FL at 20 or more employees against 5.1% in Brazos County. These are neighbors in competition only; they say nothing about what to expect from AI engines.
Communities
Population by place, from the Census Bureau's latest estimates. Local questions generally name a town, so each of these is a separate context, and work on answer engine optimization (AEO) in Brazos County can be written for any of them.
| Place | Percent of all county residents | People (2023 estimate) |
|---|---|---|
| College Station | 51% | 125,192 |
| Bryan | 37% | 89,615 |
| Kurten | 0% | 401 |
| Wixon Valley | 0% | 229 |
| Navasota (part) | 0% | 0 |
Figures are Census Bureau population estimates. Places here are cities, towns and census-designated places, so a city split between counties is counted only where it lies in Brazos County.
Our process
We compare your name, phone and address details and your site details across Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and the other places AI engines read, so everything matches.
We implement schema markup on the pages that matter most: LocalBusiness schema, FAQ schema and Review schema, so engines can read who you are, where you work and what you offer.
We write local content in a conversational tone that answers the questions people ask about your services in your service area.
Every month we run tests of your visibility across Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and ChatGPT, then change course based on what moves. The report covers knowledge panels, citations, AI visibility, platform traffic and local rankings.
What you get
Schema on your key pages
We add schema markup to your key pages, including FAQ, LocalBusiness and Review schema, so an engine can read your business details as structured facts.
Name, address and phone
We make your name, phone and address details agree on Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and every other listing engines read.
Hyper-local and conversational
We publish conversational, hyper-local content that answers the questions people put to assistants about your services, focused on Brazos County first and foremost.
What customers say
Review volume and sentiment both get read by AI engines, so reputation work is part of the plan.
Crawlable, fast, clean
Technical SEO keeps your site readable by search engines and AI tools, and it is the foundation the rest of the work stands on.
AI visibility reporting
Visibility is tested monthly in Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT, with reports on citations, AI visibility, knowledge panels, platform traffic and local rankings.
None of this stands alone: it is part of Organic Growth, with local SEO and Google Maps work beside it and a managed website on Gold and Platinum. Paid campaigns on Bing, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google are available separately for faster leads.
Do the math
The plans are flat monthly fees, which makes the payback arithmetic simple: what one new customer is worth to you, your margin and your close rate give the customers a month a plan has to deliver.
Pricing
There is no separate price for GEO, since each of the three Organic Growth plans below includes it. Every plan is month to month, with no setup fee and no contract. Talk to our CEO about the options.
Common questions
GEO is included in Organic Growth rather than priced on its own. Silver is $1,495 a month, Gold is $2,495 and Platinum is $3,495. A website, custom built and fully managed, comes with Gold and Platinum. None of the plans has a setup fee or a contract.
No. GEO works on the unpaid side: helping engines find accurate information about your business. ChatGPT ads are a separate paid test: labeled, sponsored ads that some users on the Free and lower-priced plans see, set up in a self-serve Ads Manager and aimed by country and context rather than keyword. The ads do not alter the answers, and measurement is still maturing.
According to the index, Brazos County sits close to the middle of the pack: it scores 57.8, which is 553rd out of 1,822 counties of 20,000 or more people and 311th of our 400 markets. The busiest category is real estate agents and brokers, at 2.5x a typical county. A score is a headcount of established competitors, not a forecast of what any engine will do.
SEO helps pages rank in a list of results, while GEO prepares your information for engines that answer in a sentence or two. The engines include Perplexity, ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews; the practice is also called AEO. The two share groundwork, so Organic Growth includes both.
There is no contract and no setup fee, and every plan is flat-rate and month to month. We also work with one business per category in each city, so we will not set you up against a direct competitor of yours in Brazos County.
We do not promise AI mentions, because nobody controls them. The goal is accurate, consistent facts that match across every source an engine reads. As engines gather, validate and favor consistent information, results improve over time, though we cannot say how long that takes. Monthly testing across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity keeps you informed.
Reviews feed into it. Engines read review volume and sentiment, which is why reviews and reputation are part of what we do, together with LocalBusiness, FAQ and Review schema. No mention can be guaranteed, though a healthy, current set of reviews gives engines more to work with.
Your name, address and phone number, plus details such as hours and services, should be the same on Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and anywhere else an engine looks. That is what the audit at the start of our process checks, as mismatched details make it harder for an engine to describe you correctly.
GEO is often framed as SEO's next step, and in our plans the two arrive together: the AI-focused work alongside technical SEO, landing pages and reviews. See the Organic Growth page for the full list.
