The market in figures
AI Answer Competition Index
51.2/ 100
Currently ranked 760 among the 1,822 counties above 20,000 residents, and 355 within our own 400-market set. More established businesses per resident push the score up. How the score is built
We built this index around eleven categories where someone is likely to ask an assistant who to call (law, dental, medical, real estate, insurance, accounting, remodeling, plumbing and HVAC, roofing, electrical, auto repair). Every county of 20,000 or more residents gets a 0 to 100 score for how many established locations, with five or more employees, share its population. Houston County scores 51.2, which is close to the middle of the pack.
Look past the headline number and two features of Houston County emerge: it is a county where larger firms, those with 20 or more employees, hold an outsized share of advice-led locations, and it is a county gaining residents faster than most. The measures below show where it stands against every other county.
Each percentile places Houston County among the 1,822 counties of 20,000 or more residents, as the share of them with a lower value. Drawn from: Census Bureau population estimates, the 2017 and 2022 County Business Patterns, SAIPE income estimates and the Building Permits Survey.
Where the customers are
Population by place, from the Census Bureau's latest estimates. Local questions usually name a town, so each of these is a separate context, and work on answer engine optimization (AEO) in Houston County can be written for any of them.
| Place name | Slice of the county's population | Residents in 2023 (estimate) |
|---|---|---|
| Warner Robins (part) | 49% | 83,935 |
| Perry (part) | 14% | 23,928 |
| Centerville | 5% | 8,470 |
Population figures come from Census Bureau estimates. Places here are cities, towns and census-designated places, and a city that straddles a county line is shown for its Houston County part only.
What stands out
Larger firms are unusually common in Houston County: 5.8% of the 417 locations in our eleven categories (24 in all) have 20 or more employees, a higher share than in 82% of counties. Bigger operations often run several locations, and AI tools need consistent, verified data to recommend a multi-location business locally, so accuracy at every address counts.
Two other features of the Houston County market matter here. Houston County authorized 70.8 new homes per 10,000 residents in 2025, more than 85% of counties.
What this means for GEO services for Houston County businesses: larger competitors make data hygiene non-negotiable: one name, one address, one phone number, everywhere engines look.
Home to 171,974 people, Houston County is the 396th largest of 3,143 U.S. counties, and its headcount has moved +5.1% since the 2020 Census. Employers operate 2,807 locations here across all industries, roughly 16.3 for every 1,000 residents.
The larger places in Houston County are Warner Robins (83,935), Perry (23,928) and Centerville (8,470). Local questions tend to name a town, so a business serving several of them gains from content and consistent details for each. RankGuarantee™ landing pages, included in every Organic Growth plan, are how that content gets built at volume.
Outside any named place (a city, town or census-designated place) live 55,641 of Houston County's residents (32%), and their questions often skip the town name entirely and ask for something "near me" instead.
Your competition
Read each row across: Houston County's established locations in a category, the crowding bar against the median county (the dark tick is 1.0x), the change in all locations since 2017, and the count of large employers.
Each bar shows a category's established locations (five or more employees) per 10,000 residents as a multiple of the middle county we rank; the dark tick is 1.0x. Change covers every employer location in the category, of any size. Source: Census County Business Patterns (2017, 2022), which says nothing about AI behavior or search volume. How we calculate this
Physicians offices are the most contested category in Houston County: 61 established locations, 1.7 times the density of a typical county, with the category as a whole up 8.4% since 2017. A person asking an assistant which doctor to book has the most names to sort through here. Room exists in dentists, where 31 established locations come to just 0.9x a typical county.
Dentists shrank instead, losing 2.4% of their locations to land at 40. The biggest employers sit in physicians offices, where 15 locations have 20 or more employees.
Remember what a count can and cannot say. It tells you how many established businesses are in each category. It says nothing about AI mentions, search volume or timing, and nobody can promise a mention in an AI answer.
Where demand is heading
Each bar counts housing units approved for construction. Data: Building Permits Survey, county annual files, and a like-for-like year-to-date comparison. Permits mark intent to build, not finished construction.
From a high of 2,352 units in 2022, approvals in Houston County dropped to 1,218 in 2025, about 48% less, and the 2025 rate of 70.8 per 10,000 residents is above 85% of counties. Year to date (January through August), approvals stand at 751, compared with 701 a year ago, a change of +7.1%.
Among businesses tied to building, real estate agents and brokers (1.1x typical) and insurance agencies (0.9x typical) are the most crowded in Houston County. Rising permits bring people who need a roofer or an electrician and have no one to ask, and falling permits shift questions toward repair and replacement. Either way, accurate local information is what GEO works on.

Closest of the six is Aiken County, SC, at 49.8 on the index against 51.2 for Houston County. Kent County, DE is the most different of the six, at 60.0. The mix of firm sizes differs too: 4.1% of Onslow County, NC's advice-led locations have 20 or more employees, against 5.8% here. A similar score means a comparable number of established competitors, not a comparable result.
What you get
Schema on your key pages
Schema markup goes onto your most important pages: LocalBusiness, FAQ and Review, so your business is described in a format machines handle well.
Name, address and phone
We make your name, phone and address details agree on Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and every other listing engines read.
Answers, not keywords
We publish conversational, hyper-local content that answers the questions people put to assistants about your services, focused on Houston County first and foremost.
Steady, current reviews
Review volume and sentiment both get read by AI engines, so reputation work is part of the plan.
SEO underneath
Technical SEO keeps your site readable by search engines and AI tools, and it is the foundation the rest of the work stands on.
ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews
Each month we test your visibility across Perplexity, ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews, and reporting covers local rankings, AI visibility, citations, knowledge panels and platform traffic.
GEO sits next to our other work: local SEO, Google Maps optimization and, on the Gold and Platinum plans, a fully managed website. Want leads sooner? We also manage Google, Bing and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) ads.
How it works
We review your NAP details and your website details across Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and the other places AI engines read, so they all agree.
We implement schema markup on your most important pages: FAQ, LocalBusiness and Review markup, so AI engines can read your details as structured facts.
We publish plain-language, hyper-local content that speaks to what your customers actually ask about what you do and where you do it.
Each month we measure your visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, then adjust the plan to the results. The report covers AI visibility, citations, platform traffic, knowledge panels and local rankings.
What it costs
There is no separate price for GEO, since each of the three Organic Growth plans below includes it. Plans are billed month to month, and there is no setup fee to pay. Book a call with our CEO to compare plans.

Questions we hear
GEO is not sold on its own: it comes with every Organic Growth plan. The plans are $1,495 (Silver), $2,495 (Gold) and $3,495 (Platinum) a month, and the two higher plans include a fully managed, custom-built website. No setup fee, no contract.
It means your name, address, phone number and details like hours and services are identical on Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and every other source an engine might read. Our process starts with an audit of precisely that, as mismatched details make it harder for an engine to describe you correctly.
GEO adds to SEO rather than taking its place, and Organic Growth includes both. Technical SEO is part of the GEO work itself, and the same accurate data, solid pages and reviews that help you in search give AI engines more to draw on. Our Organic Growth plans cover both.
Think of SEO as winning a place in a list of links and GEO as making your details usable to engines that answer directly. That covers Perplexity, ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews, and some people call it AEO. The two share groundwork, so Organic Growth includes both.
On our measure, Houston County sits near the middle of the pack: it scores 51.2, which is 760th out of 1,822 counties of 20,000 or more people and 355th of our 400 markets. The busiest category is physicians offices, at 1.7x a typical county. The score measures how many established competitors there are, and it cannot predict what an engine will say.
No, they are separate. Advertisers can buy labeled, sponsored ads in ChatGPT through a self-serve Ads Manager, and some Free and lower-priced plan users see them. Measurement is still maturing, and the ads do not influence the answers. GEO is the unpaid work of keeping your information accurate and easy to use.
Whichever places you work in. Houston County has 3 places of 2,500 or more residents, led by Warner Robins, Perry and Centerville. The GEO content is hyper-local, and RankGuarantee™ landing pages (25 a month on Silver, 50 on Gold and 100 on Platinum) give each service its own page in each place you cover.
Usually not. The work begins by auditing your business information and adding structured data to the key pages you already have. If you would rather start fresh, the Gold and Platinum plans include a fully managed, custom-built website with hosting and maintenance.
Nobody can, including us. Our part is the groundwork that gives an engine more to go on: matching details on Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and the other listings, schema markup and local content. Because engines build trust in information gradually, any promised date would be a guess. Each month we test visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews and report what we see.

How it was made
Public Census Bureau data is the only source behind this page; one formula covers every county, so Houston County is judged by the same yardstick as anywhere else. We use no client data and publish no AI mention counts, traffic or rankings: the index is a count of businesses and nothing more.
