The market in numbers
AI Answer Competition Index
44.6/ 100
Currently ranked 954 among the 1,822 counties that have 20,000 or more people, and 383 within our own 400-market set. More established businesses per resident push the score up. See how it is calculated
The AI Answer Competition Index covers eleven kinds of business that people ask an assistant to recommend: law, dental, medical, real estate, insurance, accounting, remodeling, plumbing and HVAC, roofing, electrical and auto repair. For each county of 20,000 or more residents it counts established locations, those with five or more employees, per 10,000 people. St. Lucie County scores 44.6, which is less crowded than most.
The score is only part of the picture. St. Lucie County is a county gaining residents faster than most, and it is also a county where new housing is going up quickly for its size. Each measure below places it among all counties.
Percentiles compare St. Lucie County with all 1,822 counties of 20,000 or more residents: a percentile is the share of those counties with a lower value. Built from: Census Bureau population estimates, the 2017 and 2022 County Business Patterns, SAIPE income estimates and the Building Permits Survey.
What stands out
St. Lucie County is growing: population is up 13.5% since the 2020 Census to 373,586, faster than in 99% of comparable counties. Newcomers have no favorite dentist or electrician yet, so they ask, and some of them ask an assistant. Information that is consistent across the places AI engines read is how a business gets described correctly to them.
Two other features of the St. Lucie County market matter here. St. Lucie County authorized 107.3 new homes per 10,000 residents in 2025, more than 95% of counties. Advice-led locations in St. Lucie County grew 23.5% from 2017 to 2022, faster than in 92% of counties.
What this means for GEO services for St. Lucie County businesses: a growing population keeps adding people who ask basic questions, and accurate answers about your business give them something to find.
The larger places in St. Lucie County are Port St. Lucie (245,021), Fort Pierce (49,374) and St. Lucie Village (605). Local questions tend to name a town, so a business serving several of them gains from content and consistent details for each. RankGuarantee™ landing pages, included in every Organic Growth plan, are how that content gets built at volume.
21% of the county, about 78,586 people, lives outside any named place, where "near me" and county-wide questions count for as much as a city name.
Demand signal
Bars show new housing units approved by building permits. From the Building Permits Survey (Census Bureau): annual county data plus matching January-to-August totals. Approved units may not be built yet.
Permits peaked at 7,461 units in 2021 and came in at 4,007 in 2025, roughly 46% lower. Even so, 2025 equals 107.3 units for every 10,000 residents, which is above 95% of counties. Year to date (January through August), approvals stand at 2,332, compared with 3,023 a year ago, a change of -22.9%.
Among businesses tied to building, roofing contractors (1.5x typical) and electrical contractors (1.1x typical) are the most crowded in St. Lucie County. Rising permits bring people who need a roofer or an electrician and have no one to ask, and falling permits shift questions toward repair and replacement. Either way, accurate local information is what GEO works on.
Who shares the answer
The eleven rows are the recommendation categories. Each shows established locations in St. Lucie County and sets them against the median county, so 2.0x would mean twice the typical number per resident.
Each bar shows a category's established locations (five or more employees) per 10,000 residents as a multiple of the middle county we rank; the dark tick is 1.0x. Change is measured on all locations in the category, not just established ones. Source: Census County Business Patterns (2017, 2022), which says nothing about AI behavior or search volume. Method
Physicians offices are the most contested category in St. Lucie County: 127 established locations, 1.6 times the density of a typical county, with the category as a whole up 1.3% since 2017. A person asking an assistant which doctor to book has the most names to sort through here. Room exists in insurance agencies, where 21 established locations come to just 0.6x a typical county.
The fastest growth is in residential remodelers: locations of every size rose 73.8% since 2017, to 146, so new names keep appearing. Larger firms cluster in physicians offices: 25 locations have 20 or more employees.
Remember what a count can and cannot say. It tells you how many established businesses are in each category. It says nothing about AI mentions, search volume or timing, and nobody can promise a mention in an AI answer.

The mix of firm sizes differs too: 4.3% of Pasco County, FL's advice-led locations have 20 or more employees, against 3.6% here. A similar score means a comparable number of established competitors, not a comparable result.
Where people live
Population by place, from the Census Bureau's latest estimates. Local questions usually name a town, so each of these is a separate context, and work on answer engine optimization (AEO) in St. Lucie County can be written for any of them.

The parts of GEO
Markup engines can read
We add schema markup to your key pages, including FAQ, LocalBusiness and Review schema, so your business is described in a format machines handle well.
Name, address and phone
Your address, name and phone number are made to match across Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and the other places AI engines look.
Written for the questions people ask
We publish conversational, hyper-local content that answers the questions people put to assistants about your services, focused on St. Lucie County and the towns around it.
What customers say
AI engines scan review volume and sentiment, so we help you earn and answer reviews on a steady schedule.
SEO underneath
The groundwork is technical SEO: pages that load, can be crawled and carry the structure the rest of GEO adds to.
AI visibility reporting
Visibility is tested monthly in ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity, with reports on local rankings, AI visibility, citations, knowledge panels and platform traffic.
GEO sits next to our other work: local SEO, Google Maps optimization and, on the Gold and Platinum plans, a fully managed website. Want leads sooner? We also manage Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Bing and Google ads.
Check the math
GEO is part of the monthly Organic Growth plans, so the useful question is how many new customers a plan has to bring in to cover its cost. Customers from AI answers, search and Google Maps all count, and nobody can promise any of them.
Fees
You do not buy GEO separately, because it is included in all three Organic Growth plans below. Every plan is month to month, with no setup fee and no contract. Talk to our CEO about the options.
Questions we hear
GEO is not a standalone product: every Organic Growth plan includes it. The plans are $1,495 (Silver), $2,495 (Gold) and $3,495 (Platinum) a month, and the two higher plans include a fully managed, custom-built website. There is no setup fee and no contract.
They are different things. GEO is unpaid work: making accurate information about your business easy for engines to use. ChatGPT ads are a separate paid test: sponsored, labeled ads shown to some users on the Free and lower-priced plans, bought through a self-serve Ads Manager and targeted by country and context, not by keyword. Measurement is still maturing, and ads do not change the answers.
There is no contract and no setup fee, and every plan is flat-rate and month to month. Only one business per category per city is accepted, which keeps us from working for your direct competitor in St. Lucie County.
Generative engine optimization (GEO) means optimizing your online presence for AI engines like Perplexity, ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews. Some people call it AEO, answer engine optimization. These engines answer a question directly, pulling from structured data, business listings and trusted content. GEO is the next step beyond SEO and complements it; it does not replace it.
We cannot promise that, and neither can anyone else. No one controls what an AI engine says. Our work is to make what engines can find about you accurate, consistent and well structured, and over time engines gather, validate and favor consistent information. There is no timeframe to quote; we check Perplexity, ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews every month and report what we see.
It means your name, address, phone number and details like hours and services are identical on Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and every other source an engine might read. The first step in our process is an audit of exactly that, since conflicting details make it harder for engines to describe you accurately.
People describe GEO as the next evolution of SEO, which is why we deliver the two together: technical SEO, local landing pages, reviews and the AI-focused work. See the Organic Growth page for the full list.
Less than most. St. Lucie County scores 44.6 on our AI Answer Competition Index, ranking 954th among the 1,822 counties we rank, and 383rd within our 400-market set. Physicians offices are where the field is most crowded, at 1.6 times the typical county. Remember that the index measures businesses, not AI behavior.
Of the eleven recommendation categories, the biggest in St. Lucie County by established locations are physicians offices (127), dentists (60) and plumbing, heating and air-conditioning contractors (41). Next to a typical county, the most crowded are physicians offices (1.6x) and electrical contractors (1.1x).
