Get results in days, not monthsResults in days, not monthsAI assistants answer local questions directly, and what they say depends on what they can verify. Broward County has 28 places of 2,500 or more residents, each asking its own local questions. That is the context for answer engine optimization (AEO) in Broward County with GetPhound: audited business data, schema markup, conversational local content and monthly monitoring, included in Organic Growth.
Market snapshot
AI Answer Competition Index
73.2/ 100
Currently ranked 153 among the 1,822 counties with 20,000 or more residents, and 105 within our own 400-market set. A higher number means a more crowded field of established competitors. How the score is built
The AI Answer Competition Index covers eleven kinds of business that people ask an assistant to recommend: law, dental, medical, real estate, insurance, accounting, remodeling, plumbing and HVAC, roofing, electrical and auto repair. For each county of 20,000 or more residents it counts established locations, those with five or more employees, per 10,000 people. Broward County scores 73.2, which is more crowded than most.
Broward County has two traits worth noting: it is a county made up of many sizeable towns, and it is a county where advice-led businesses are mostly tiny, with fewer than five employees. Each measure below places it among all counties.
Each percentile places Broward County among the 1,822 counties of 20,000 or more residents, as the share of them with a lower value. Built from: Census population estimates, County Business Patterns for 2017 and 2022, SAIPE income estimates and the Building Permits Survey.
The AI answer picture
Broward County is not one market but 28, one for each place of 2,500 or more people (25 are larger than 10,000), a count that beats 99% of counties. Hyper-local content that answers the questions asked in each town is the core of GEO in a county shaped like this.
Two other features of the Broward County market matter here. Only 24.9% of the advice-led locations in Broward County have five or more employees, a lower share than in 95% of counties. Broward County has 16 established advice-led businesses per 10,000 residents, more than 87% of counties.
For anyone weighing GEO in Broward County, the unit of work is the town, not the county, so content and pages follow your service area.
Size matters for context: 1,962,531 residents put Broward County 17th among 3,143 U.S. counties, and the population has changed +0.9% since the 2020 Census. All industries together have 67,274 employer locations, or 34.3 per 1,000 people.
Population by place
The largest places in Broward County by resident count. For answer engine optimization (AEO) in Broward County, the work is place by place: each service you offer can have content for each town you serve.
| Community | Portion of the county | 2023 population estimate |
|---|---|---|
| Fort Lauderdale | 9% | 184,255 |
| Pembroke Pines | 9% | 171,119 |
| Hollywood | 8% | 153,859 |
| Miramar | 7% | 138,319 |
| Coral Springs | 7% | 134,906 |
| Pompano Beach | 6% | 113,619 |
Figures are Census Bureau population estimates. A place can be a city, a town or a census-designated place, so a city split between counties is counted only where it lies in Broward County.
Who shares the answer
Read each row across: Broward County's established locations in a category, the crowding bar against the median county (the dark tick is 1.0x), the change in all locations since 2017, and the count of large employers.
Bars give each category's established locations (five or more employees) per 10,000 residents as a multiple of the middle county among those ranked; the dark tick is 1.0x. Change covers every employer location in the category, of any size. Counts come from County Business Patterns (2017, 2022) and are no measure of AI mentions or search volume. How we calculate this
Law offices lead the field for crowding in Broward County: 521 established locations, 3.6x a typical county, with the category as a whole up 4.1% since 2017. Roofing contractors (83 established locations, 2.7x) and physicians offices (734 established locations, 1.8x) follow, also denser than a typical county. Auto repair shops are the least crowded category here at 0.7x typical (113 established locations), which leaves more room for a well-documented business to be noticed.
Residential remodelers added the most new competition, 49.4% more locations of all sizes than in 2017 (862 now). Physicians offices shrank instead, losing 5.4% of their locations to land at 1,859. Larger firms cluster in physicians offices: 193 locations have 20 or more employees.
A word of caution: this table counts businesses. It does not measure how often an assistant is asked about any category, which businesses it names, or how many people use one. A crowded category calls for careful preparation and a quiet one for early action, but neither is a forecast.
New construction
Each bar counts housing units approved for construction. Data: Building Permits Survey, county annual files, and a like-for-like year-to-date comparison. Approved units may not be built yet.
Permits peaked at 4,069 units in 2021 and came in at 2,809 in 2025, roughly 31% lower. Even so, 2025 equals 14.3 units for every 10,000 residents, which is below 73% of counties. Year to date (January through August), approvals stand at 1,788, compared with 1,979 a year ago, a change of -9.7%.
The construction-linked categories with the most established competitors in Broward County are roofing contractors (2.7x typical) and real estate agents and brokers (1.7x typical). New households arrive without providers they trust, and a business whose details already match across the places AI engines read is easier for them to find described.

Miami-Dade County, FL is the nearest match, scoring 66.5 against Broward County's 73.2. Miami-Dade County, FL has 4.7% of its advice-led locations at 20 or more employees against 5.2% in Broward County. Treat the match as a read on the competition, not a promise about results.
Check the math
GEO is part of the monthly Organic Growth plans, so the useful question is how many new customers a plan has to bring in to cover its cost. Customers from AI answers, search and Google Maps all count, and nobody can promise any of them.
What is in the work
Schema on your key pages
Schema markup goes onto your most important pages: LocalBusiness, FAQ and Review, so your business is described in a format machines handle well.
Name, address and phone
We make your name, address and phone details agree on Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and every other listing engines read.
Written for the questions people ask
We publish conversational, hyper-local content that answers the questions people put to assistants about your services, focused on Broward County first and foremost.
What customers say
Review volume and sentiment both get read by AI engines, so reputation work is part of the plan.
Crawlable, fast, clean
The groundwork is technical SEO: pages that load, can be crawled and carry the structure the rest of GEO adds to.
AI visibility reporting
Each month we test your visibility across Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT, and reporting covers knowledge panels, citations, AI visibility, platform traffic and local rankings.
GEO is delivered alongside SEO, Google Maps work and the website that comes with Gold and Platinum. Want leads sooner? We also manage Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Bing and Google ads.
Our process
We compare your name, address and phone details and your website details across Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and the other listings AI engines read, so everything matches.
We install schema markup on your most important pages: Review, LocalBusiness and FAQ markup, so AI engines can read your details as structured facts.
We write conversational, hyper-local content that responds to the questions customers put to assistants about what you do and where you do it.
Every month we run tests of your visibility across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, then change course based on what moves. Reporting includes citations, AI visibility, knowledge panels, platform traffic and local rankings.
Pricing
The three Organic Growth plans below each include GEO, and it cannot be bought alone. Plans are billed month to month, and there is no setup fee to pay. Ask our CEO which plan fits.
Common questions
The short version: GEO is bundled into Organic Growth, not sold alone. Silver is $1,495 a month, Gold is $2,495 and Platinum is $3,495. Gold and Platinum also bring a custom-built website we host and maintain. None of the plans has a setup fee or a contract.
They are different things. GEO is unpaid work: making accurate information about your business easy for engines to use. ChatGPT ads are a separate paid test: sponsored, labeled ads shown to some users on the Free and lower-priced plans, bought through a self-serve Ads Manager and targeted by country and context, not by keyword. The ads do not alter the answers, and measurement is still maturing.
No. We do not promise a mention, and no one honestly can. The engines decide what they say, not us. Our work is to make what engines can find about you accurate, consistent and well structured, and over time engines gather, validate and favor consistent information. We give no timeframe, but we test your visibility in Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity every month and show you what is changing.
Reviews are one of the signals. Review volume and sentiment are read by AI engines, so we treat reputation as part of the work, plus FAQ, LocalBusiness and Review schema. We cannot promise a mention; a healthy, current review profile simply gives engines more information.
These names mostly mean the same thing: generative engine optimization, answer engine optimization and AI search optimization all describe getting your business ready for engines that give direct answers, such as Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT. The engines rely on structured data, listings and trusted content, which is why GEO works with SEO and not against it.
On our measure, Broward County is more crowded than most counties: it scores 73.2, which is 153rd out of 1,822 counties of 20,000 or more people and 105th of our 400 markets. The busiest category is law offices, at 3.6x a typical county. The score describes the number of established competitors; what engines do with them is beyond what public data can show.
Whichever you serve. Broward County has 28 places of 2,500 or more residents, led by Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Miramar and Coral Springs. Content under GEO is hyper-local, and RankGuarantee™ landing pages (25 a month on Silver, 50 on Gold and 100 on Platinum) put each service on its own page in every place you cover.
No contract and no setup fee: plans are flat-rate and month to month. We take one business per category per city, so a direct competitor of yours in Broward County will not be a client alongside you.
You do not have to. The first steps are an audit, schema on your important pages and fresh local content. A new site is an option, not a requirement: Gold and Platinum come with a custom-built, fully managed website if you want one.
