Snapshot
AI Answer Competition Index
83.8/ 100
Currently ranked 12 among the 1,822 counties above 20,000 residents, and 7 within our own 400-market set. More established businesses per resident push the score up. See how it is calculated
Think of the index as a headcount of established competition, those with five or more employees, in eleven recommendation categories, for each 10,000 residents and compared across every county of 20,000 or more people. The categories are law, dental, medical, real estate, insurance, accounting, remodeling, plumbing and HVAC, roofing, electrical and auto repair. Bucks County scores 83.8, which is among the most crowded markets in the country.
The score is only part of the picture. Bucks County is a county with many residents outside any named place, and it is also an affluent county. The measures below show where it stands against every other county.
Percentiles compare Bucks County with all 1,822 counties of 20,000 or more residents: a percentile is the share of those counties with a lower value. Drawn from: Census population estimates, the 2017 and 2022 County Business Patterns, SAIPE income estimates and the Building Permits Survey.
Reading the market
87% of Bucks County's residents (562,223 people) live outside any named place (a city, town or census-designated place), more than in 95% of counties. They ask for help by county name or "near me", not by city, so structured data and service-area details have to describe the whole county, not just its town centers.
Two more details round out the picture. Median household income in Bucks County is $107,006, above 96% of counties. Bucks County has 11 communities above 2,500 residents, more than 94% of counties.
What this means for GEO in Bucks County: think county-wide: service-area details and county-level content matter as much as town names.
Size matters for context: 645,984 residents put Bucks County 110th among 3,143 U.S. counties, and the population has changed -0.1% since the 2020 Census. All industries together have 20,043 employer locations, or 31.0 per 1,000 people.
The larger places in Bucks County are Bristol (9,876), Morrisville (9,705), Perkasie (9,277), Quakertown (9,247) and Doylestown (8,338). Local questions tend to name a town, so a business serving several of them gains from content and consistent details for each. RankGuarantee™ landing pages, included in every Organic Growth plan, are how that content gets built at volume.
Who else could be named
Each row is one of the eleven recommendation categories: established locations (five or more employees) in Bucks County, how that compares with the typical county, how the category as a whole has changed since 2017, and how many locations are large employers.
Each bar shows a category's established locations (five or more employees) per 10,000 residents as a multiple of the middle county we rank; the dark tick is 1.0x. Change covers every employer location in the category, of any size. Counts come from County Business Patterns (2017, 2022) and are no measure of AI mentions or search volume. How we calculate this
Roofing contractors are the most contested category in Bucks County: 33 established locations, 3.3 times the density of a typical county, with the category as a whole up 14.8% since 2017. A person asking an assistant which roofer to hire has the most names to sort through here. Denser than usual as well: residential remodelers (92 established locations, 2.6x) and real estate agents and brokers (28 established locations, 2.1x).
Real estate agents and brokers added the most new competition, 43.2% more locations of all sizes than in 2017 (265 now). Physicians offices contracted by 23.6% since 2017, to 339 locations. The biggest employers sit in physicians offices, where 66 locations have 20 or more employees.
These figures describe the competition, not AI behavior. No public data tells us how often people ask an assistant for a recommendation or how an engine picks among businesses, and we do not guess; the table shows how many established rivals share the answer space.
Where demand is heading
Bars show new housing units approved by building permits. Data: Building Permits Survey, county annual files, and a like-for-like year-to-date comparison. Approved units may not be built yet.
Permits peaked at 984 units in 2021 and came in at 691 in 2025, roughly 30% lower. Even so, 2025 equals 10.7 units for every 10,000 residents, which is below 80% of counties. Through the first eight months of 2026, 512 units were approved against 440 in the same months of 2025 (+16.4%).
The construction-linked categories with the most established competitors in Bucks County are roofing contractors (3.3x typical) and residential remodelers (2.6x typical). Permits show where new customers are coming from; GEO does not wait for them to arrive, and content for new homeowners is easier to publish before demand peaks.

Closest of the six is Clackamas County, OR, at 79.9 on the index against 83.8 for Bucks County. Chester County, PA is the most different of the six, at 77.4. The mix of firm sizes differs too: 7.9% of Montgomery County, PA's advice-led locations have 20 or more employees, against 5.9% here. A similar score means a comparable number of established competitors, not a comparable result.
Communities
These are the biggest places in Bucks County. Someone asking an assistant about a provider nearby will usually name one of them, which is why plans for answer engine optimization (AEO) in Bucks County start with the towns on this list.

|---|---|---|
| Bristol | 2% | 9,876 |

Our process
We compare your NAP details and your site information across Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and the other sources AI engines pull from, so everything matches.
We put schema markup on your most important pages: LocalBusiness, Review and FAQ markup, so your business is described in a format machines read well.
We write conversational, hyper-local content that responds to the questions customers put to assistants about your services in your service area.
Each month we check your visibility across Perplexity, ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews, then adapt the work to what we find. Reporting includes AI visibility, citations, platform traffic, knowledge panels and local rankings.
What is in the work
Schema on your key pages
We add schema markup to your key pages, including LocalBusiness, Review and FAQ schema, so an engine can read your business details as structured facts.
NAP across every listing
Your name, phone number and address are made to match across Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and the other places AI engines look.
Written for the questions people ask
We publish conversational, hyper-local content that answers the questions people put to assistants about your services, focused on Bucks County and its neighboring areas.
What customers say
AI engines scan review volume and sentiment, so we help you earn and answer reviews on a steady schedule.
Crawlable, fast, clean
Technical SEO keeps your site readable by search engines and AI tools, and it is the foundation the rest of the work stands on.
AI visibility reporting
Visibility is tested monthly in Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and ChatGPT, with reports on local rankings, AI visibility, citations, knowledge panels and platform traffic.
GEO sits next to our other work: local SEO, Google Maps optimization and, on the Gold and Platinum plans, a fully managed website. Want leads sooner? We also manage Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Bing ads.
Check the math
GEO is part of the monthly Organic Growth plans, so the useful question is how many new customers a plan has to bring in to cover its cost. Customers from AI answers, search and Google Maps all count, and nobody can promise any of them.
Fees
The three Organic Growth plans below each include GEO, and it cannot be bought alone. You can start with no setup fee and leave whenever you like. Walk through the plans with our CEO.
Questions we hear
GEO is not sold on its own: every Organic Growth plan includes it. The plans are $1,495 (Silver), $2,495 (Gold) and $3,495 (Platinum) a month, and the two higher plans include a fully managed, custom-built website. There is no setup fee and no contract.
More than most. Bucks County registers 83.8 on our AI Answer Competition Index, sitting at 12th among the 1,822 counties we rank, and 7th within our 400-market set. Roofing contractors are where the field is most crowded, at 3.3 times the typical county. The index counts established businesses, not AI behavior.
It helps most there. Consistent, verified data is what AI tools need to recommend a business locally, so a name, address, phone number and set of hours that match across Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and the rest matter at each location. 5.9% of advice-led locations in Bucks County have 20 or more employees.
The ones you serve. Bucks County has 11 places of 2,500 or more residents, led by Bristol, Morrisville, Perkasie, Quakertown and Doylestown. Content under GEO is hyper-local, and RankGuarantee™ landing pages (25 a month on Silver, 50 on Gold and 100 on Platinum) give each service its own page in each place you cover.
The work covers structured data on your key pages (Review, LocalBusiness and FAQ schema), consistent business details across Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and more, conversational hyper-local content, review and reputation work, technical SEO, and ongoing monitoring across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity. Each report includes local rankings, AI visibility, citations, knowledge panels and platform traffic.
It would be dishonest to promise an AI mention, so we do not. The goal is accurate, consistent facts that match across every source an engine reads. As engines gather, validate and favor consistent information, results improve over time, though we cannot say how long that takes. You see monthly test results from Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity.
They are part of the picture. AI engines scan review volume and sentiment, which is why reviews and reputation work sit alongside schema markup (including Review schema) and consistent business details in our plans.
Think of SEO as winning a place in a list of links and GEO as making your details usable to engines that answer directly. That covers Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, and some people call it AEO. The two share groundwork, so Organic Growth includes both.
Not at all. Advertisers can buy labeled, sponsored ads in ChatGPT through a self-serve Ads Manager, and some Free and lower-priced plan users see them. The ads do not affect the answers, and measuring them is still maturing. GEO is the unpaid work behind accurate answers about your business.
